Today we write as a personal diary, as a relief, as a silent scream. The difficult situation that we have had to live in, this confinement that the dangerous coronavirus has brought us to, makes us see (although it is very trite) the important things in life, the addiction that we have to certain things.

The addiction to hugs, to a conversation between friends, to the love of family, to going out for air, to work (yes! Even to work!) … there are so many things that go through our minds. ..

But perhaps you, readers, do not take into account another addiction that is powerful and torturing. We speak to you about the need to cook, to create, to feel ourselves completely in the kitchen.

Cooking is one of the great pleasures of life. It is an art, an escape route, a diversion … sometimes, it is like a drug. When cooking is part of your life since you are very young, as is the case of our chef Matteo Manzato, it is very difficult to start from our day to day and from our thinking.

Gastronomy is lived with the 5 senses … the view, which is exalted when a dish is appetizing; the ear, when you hear how the ingredients are heated in the fire; the touch, when you feel the textures of the elaboration melting in your mouth; the smell, when you already predict the delicious flavor of the dish and, of the taste, it is not necessary nor to specify. This extraordinary combination of the senses makes the brain reach nirvana, reach an indescribable climax and effectively make the kitchen an incredible addiction.

Not being able to open the doors of our restaurant, not being able to feel the heat of the stove and, above all, not being able to share with you comments, opinions, looks of approval, laughter and good times, we are very sorry.

But don’t worry. Whoever loves cooking like us, who truly has that addiction, enjoys each of the moments that this profession gives and struggles so that everything goes ahead and we can all, again, return to those Venetiis Moments that we love so much.

Thanks for reading, we look very soon!
